What is a webcast? A product of the latest communication and computing technologies, "webcasting" is the real-time transmission over the web of an audio-visual event. People all over the Internet can follow a webcast live from a window in a web page and interact via e-mail, provided they have previously downloaded (for free!) the appropriate software to their computer.

The minimum requirements for viewing the webcasts are as follows:

Windows: 90 MHz Intel® Pentium® processor or equivalent, 16 MB of RAM, minimum 28.8 kbps modem; 16-bit sound card and speakers, 65,000-colour video display card (video), Windows 95/NT operating system or later, Internet connection, web browser (Internet Explorer 4.01 or later or Netscape 4.05 or later) and RealPlayer 8 or later.

Mac: MacOS 8.1 or later, 32 MB RAM, 604 PowerPC (200 MHz or better), minimum 28.8 kbps modem, Internet connection, web browser (Internet Explorer 4.01 or later or Netscape 4.05 or later) and RealPlayer 8 or later.

Linux: Linux 2.0/2.2 (RedHat 5.x, 6.x, SUSE 6.x , other) 32 MB memory, minimum 28.8 kbps modem, Internet connection, web browser (Netscape 4.x) and RealPlayer 8 or later.
